The police commissioner in Katsina, Ali Umar-Fage, has ordered an aggressive manhunt for bandits behind the reprisal attack on communities in Kankia.
The police command in Katsina says it arrested 188 suspects linked to various criminal activities and rescued 12 kidnapped victims in March.
He urged residents of the state to remain patriotic and cooperate with the security agencies.
Katsina, ex-President Muhammadu Buhari’s home state, has often been ravaged by bandits, forcing many inhabitants to flee their homes.
He added that a search of the premises of the suspect led to the recovery of the illicit substances and drugs.
