Justice Maryann Anenih, in a ruling, rejected the request to strike out the charges and adjourned proceedings until Wednesday.
The defence counsel prayed the court to adjourn the case further to enable them conclude their discussions on an out of court settlement.
The judge adjourned until June 10 to rule on the application.
This is the second warrant of arrest issued against Mr Mamman in a week.
“When the victim had both hands, he could not defend himself against the defendant. What will happen now that he has become vulnerable?” stated the prosecutor.
