“The decision of the lower court to proceed with the judgment despite the express order of this court is the highest form of judicial impertinence,” it said.
Mr Adebayo, in a statement on Tuesday, said there was no constitutional or legal basis for restricting political parties’ activities through administrative or judicial action.
“We must never sacrifice our sacred institutions on the altar of politics. Nations rise when institutions are stronger than individuals,” said Mr Obi.
The court ordered INEC not to allow the parties to participate in subsequent elections, including the 2027 general polls.
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) recently released the list of candidates cleared for the election.
At the commencement of the sitting, the court registrar informed all parties that judgement had been postponed and that a new date would be communicated in due course.
