Interior minister Rauf Aregbesola has sought Ireland’s cooperation on internal security in Nigeria.
Interior minister Rauf Aregbesola says Nigeria now has a competent electronic border security architecture to secure the country effectively.
A spokesperson for the Ministry of Interior, Afonja Ajibola, said this in a statement on Wednesday in Abuja.
Mr Aregbesola also urged the Canadian government to assist Nigeria with new technologies to ease the monitoring of Nigerian borders, high seas, land, railways and schools.
The minister charged the 21-member task force, which has Bola Ilori as its chairman and Ejike Osibe as secretary, to do their work diligently.
Mr Aregbesola urged NIS to beam its searchlight on erring officers bent on exploiting passport and visa applications processing to feather their nest.
