According to him, despite judicial pronouncements, INEC has continued to recognise the then Dr Ajuji Ahmed group and now the Bala Mohammed-led group.
NNPP has cancelled its planned protest against the Independent National Electoral Commission to avoid it being hijacked by hoodlums and political rivals to instigate disorder.
“Under the circumstances, it’s apparent that the desire of the executive governor of Kano state to decamp to APC is reasonable and responsible,” the NPP statement said.
“Any Nigerian entering into any alliance with Kwankwaso and his Kwankwasiya group on the basis of the NNPP will be doing so at their own risk,” said the party chairman.
He urged the newly elected executives to lead the party with diligence, integrity, and dedication.
He added that Mr Aniebonam provided the platform for the various contests in which the party engaged in the 2023 general elections.
“The current development in the party is not conducive nor healthy for my continued stay in, and membership of the party.”
He added that in the next few days, the state executive would be invited to Abuja to resolve the crisis formally.
“The state of the nation needs the collective prayers, perseverance and patriotism of all Nigerians to redirect the ship of the nation.”
