Among those released were inmates with health challenges, those awaiting trial for bailable offences and others who have been in custody for over four years.
Ms Yerima emphasised that the aim was to decongest the prison which she said was already overstretched.
The defence counsel told the court that the convict was remorseful and promised to turn a new leaf.
The magistrate adjourned until April 10, for mention.
The Chief Magistrate, Olabisi Ogunkanmi, did not take the plea of the defendants due to lack of jurisdiction.
The defendant, of undisclosed address, was arraigned on a count charge of murder.
“The dead bodies were allegedly dismembered and sold for ritual purposes,” Ms Oladoyin said.
Mr Dauda, 28, of an undisclosed address, was docked on a three-count charge of conspiracy, breaking-in and entering, and stealing.
The prosecutor said the defendant, who owns a hospital in Koloko Olopometa, Ibadan, caused the death of the pregnant woman by carrying out surgery on her unlawfully.
He said Mr Olayode strangled the victim after being gang-raped by four men.
