The World Bank’s latest report says the ongoing conflict in the Middle East is expected to slow global economic growth to its lowest level since the COVID-19 pandemic.
It noted that water plays a central role in health, food systems, and energy, supporting an estimated 1.7 billion jobs globally.

President of the World Bank Group, Ajay Banga, said this on Friday in Washington, during the plenary of the annual meetings of the group.
Mr Banga said that the World Bank had identified five sectors with the potential to create jobs.

Mr Banga said the increase in agricultural productivity and incomes would help create jobs, boost revenues, and improve the quality of food and nutrition.
