Aero Alliance Limited will now undertake the financing, rehabilitation, expansion, operation, and management of the airport.
The move followed the outbreak of the disease in Uganda and the Democratic Republic of Congo.
Mr Ugwu said surveillance activities had been intensified at all points of entry.
“We are open to partnerships with Chinese airlines and investors,” the governor said.
