Mr Aiyedatiwa said the late governor demonstrated a strong commitment to grooming future leaders and believed in orderly, constitutional succession.
Mr Aiyedatiwa described the project as a historical milestone, stressing that the new complex was conceived under the late former governor.
The APC explained that Mr Akeredolu was a distinguished legal practitioner whose contributions to the Nigerian legal system were profound.
“Our late governor was deeply disappointed and regretful of certain behaviours and character traits displayed by Mr Aiyedatiwa,” said the former CPS.
Mr Kayode said this during a special court service held in honour of Mr Akeredolu by the Ondo judiciary on Wednesday in Akure.
Mr Fayemi described the late Akeredolu as a warrior.
Mr Aiyedatiwa said the relationship between him and Mr Akeredolu was cordial even before he died despite insinuations by his political opponents.
“‘Aketi’, as he was fondly called, is a man of simplistic nature,” said the NDDC governing board chair.
“What you have done this night is commendable.’’
“He succumbed to complications arising from protracted prostate cancer.”
