Mr Oyelade said several destitutes and beggars were apprehended at Beere, Mapo and Oja’ba access routes and relocated to the state’s rehabilitation centre in Akinyele, Ibadan.
Mr Shettima reaffirmed President Bola Tinubu’s unwavering commitment to the transformative journey under the Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security.
Mr Joe-Fadile also cautioned that the drug war in Nigeria continued and would not be business as usual, noting that the new sheriff would not tolerate illicit drug business.
The state police spokesperson, SP Adewale Osifeso, confirmed the incident in a statement on Monday in Ibadan.
“If our electioneering process is not peaceful, we can not have the development we desire.”
The centre, run by the Oyo State Government, houses destitutes relocated from the state’s metropolis.
The attack was due to the face-off between members of Soludero, a local vigilante group and some criminal elements.
