The Nigerian government has assured Nigerians of activating precautionary measures against the Ebola virus disease.
The minister emphasised the need for regional cooperation in strengthening health systems.
Mr Pate said it was geared towards modernising healthcare delivery and enabling Nigerians to access affordable medicine, no matter where they live.
Mr Pate stated that UHC is a strategic imperative embedded within Nigeria’s broader economic development aspirations.
Mr Pate said the agreement formalises a strategic partnership aimed at boosting vaccine research and addressing its needs in Nasarawa State and beyond.
He stated that the move was aimed at improving the health status of rural dwellers in the North-East region.
Mrs Tinubu stated, “A healthy state is indeed a healthy nation.”
The minister explained that while international support was important, Nigeria was mobilising domestic resources to protect its population of over 200 million people.
The government stated that this initiative was part of the Nigeria Health Sector Renewal Investment Programme.
He said the university would serve as a catalyst for social and economic development.
