ActionAid Nigeria commended Aliko Dangote for responsibly raising concerns, highlighting the positive civic value of speaking up and reporting suspected wrongdoing in good faith.
Dangote accused the NMDPRA of misrepresenting the refinery’s capacity by publishing offtake figures rather than actual production levels.
Speaking at the launch in Lagos, Dangote said the plan will support 45,000 new students every year from 2026.
The EBC is an independent ECOWAS platform designed to empower the private sector, boost sub-regional trade, foster investment, and drive economic integration.
Mr Dangote stressed that the refinery was built for long-term value, not short-term profit.
He said that the time had come for Africans to step into greatness and occupy their place in world business.
Dangote stated that several oil companies routinely divert Nigerian crude to their trading subsidiaries abroad.
Mr Dangote emphasised that the group remained committed to its vision, driven by the strong public support for the company’s role in shaping Nigeria’s economic development.
The former vice-president recalled that in 1999, the region was deeply fragmented along political tendencies.
The Africa CDC director-general noted that Nigeria’s reforms align with continental priorities to reduce dependence on Official Development Assistance (ODA).
