He said the goal was to mobilise, develop and retain regional capital within the ECOWAS subregion for the overall good of all.
He said the visit would focus on strengthening the economic, political, and cultural ties between the two countries.
“His intellectual prowess is unmatched, he is resolute and undaunted in whatever he does,” he said.
It urged both parties to exercise utmost restraint and prioritise the safety and well-being of civilians.
The envoy spoke against the backdrop of succession of military coups unfolding across Africa, with the recent being in Gabon.
“Ambassadors as representatives of the country serve at the behest of the President and it’s his prerogative to send or recall them from any country,” it added.
