The management of Ambrose Alli University, Ekpoma, Edo, has announced the indefinite suspension of academic activities with immediate effect.
The law is a good start, but it needs to be saved from the surrounding ruins to be useful to students and serviceable to the schools.
“Some are being owed 21 months’ salaries, while selective salary payment has become the order of the day.”
The police spokesman said the suspects had allegedly confessed to being members of a secret cult, the Black Axe Confraternity, during a police investigation.
Gridlocks have returned to Ekpoma, part of the Benin-Auchi-Okene Highway.
A family source said the professor’s abductors had already made contact with the family asking for a ransom of N18 million.
