UN deputy secretary-general Amina Mohammed has warned that violence against women and girls continues to be fuelled by war.
The United Nations and members of the diplomatic corps on Thursday joined Nigeria to pay tribute to fallen heroes at the Nigerian Armed Forces Remembrance Day.
She urged governments and communities to protect children from violence in educational settings.
WFP says ending hunger by 2030 would cost just $93 billion a year — less than one per cent of the $21.9 trillion spent on military budgets over the past decade.
Ms Mohammed stated, “We are failing our teachers.’’
Mr Shettima said the federal government implemented “very bold policies” to strengthen the food system.
Ms Mohammed regretted that a decade after the adoption of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), development was facing serious headwinds.
Mr Shettima believed that gender inclusion was not merely a rhetorical commitment but a cornerstone of Nigeria’s national development agenda.
According to Ms Mohammed, for three years, terrorism-related deaths have soared past 6000, making up more than half of all global fatalities.
Mr Yilwatda noted that the ministry would soon release its 2025 humanitarian response plan.
