The corps commander said upgrading Amotekun to state a police outfit would enhance effective community policing in the South-West.
“Unfortunately, while cutting the cables, electricity was supplied and burnt half of his body,” said the Amotekun commander.
Mr Adewinmbi stated that one of the suspects said he was jailed for the same act in the past.
“Both the father and his son are now safe and have reunited with their family.’’
Mr Adeleye said officers of the corps rushed the kidnapper to the hospital and he was treated.
The police said the shepherd has been reunited with his family.
Mr Adeleye said the three dismissed officers would be prosecuted in line with the corps’ regulations.
“The Intel available to us showed that they intend to rob three banks and kidnap the MD of a supermarket.”
Mr Tella said there had been reports that insufficient funds were hampering the Amotekun’s operation in Ogun.
The Ondo State Amotekun Corps arrested 67 suspected criminals in the last two weeks.
