The ex-military ruler said he has received assurances from electoral umpire INEC for a free and fair elections.
“APGA is now like a secret cult, and this has reduced our once vibrant party to a shadow of its former self,” she lamented.
“Our duty in the state at this time is…in support of the Nigeria Police, which are the lead security agency in the security architecture of electioneering,” said the army.
The Anambra information commissioner said the intention behind the planned arrest of the state government officers was to “hijack” the gubernatorial election.
The chairman is meeting with different stakeholders, including security agencies, ahead of the election.
“Any vehicle that plies without a plate number or up-to-date plate number will be impounded and the law invoked upon the defaulter,” said the statement.
“We are going to be civil to them, but for troublemakers, we shall be firm and decisive on anybody who will come out to disturb people from performing their civic duties.”
