At its core, the national convention is the highest decision-making assembly of the party.
“It is said that in all serious socio-political contests, truth is the first casualty. It is so in this contest,” said the APC chairman.
Mr Lukman stressed that it would be democratically risky and very costly to allow the president to unilaterally pick his successor.
“Postponement of the convention will kill the morale of party members and our supporters.”
Governor Mai Mala Buni led-Caretaker extraordinary convention planning committee had fixed February 26 for the APC national convention.
