The communique described the action as “unacceptable and a direct affront on APC as a political party.”
Mr Shettima commended the cordial relationship existing between the national chairman of the APC, Nentawe Yilwatda, and the governor.
“The safest state was Lagos. The APC candidate lost his ward, local government, and the state,” said Mr Aregbesola. “How worse can it get?”
“The signs are unmistakable: what looms is not a formidable alternative, but an impending implosion,” said Seye Oladejo, APC spokesman in Lagos.
Mr Makinde, however, said some issues require a bipartisan approach, where the APC and PDP would work together in the country’s interest.
