The police say farmers were injured in a clash between farmers and cattle herders in the Hayin Kogi forest in Birnin Kudu LGa of Jigawa.
“What is happening is not an issue in Jos city,” the governor’s office said.
The victims were residents who had fled their villages to state-run shelters following previous attacks that gripped the vast agrarian region in central Nigeria.
The AK47-wielding herdsmen attacked the Igueben train station while passengers were waiting to board the train.
The lawmakers argued that the movement of cattles is a threat to peaceful coexistence in the state.
