The Academic Staff Union of Universities (Yobe University chapter) states that it has not called off the strike that began on July 11.
He said the strike action has been suspended with immediate effect.
The union said the strike was to protest the nonpayment of salaries from May to September 2022, 60 per cent of September 2017 and other withheld salaries.
“The congress unanimously resolved to suspend the strike so that the university administration will be able to look at the issues,” he said.
ASUU had threatened to embark on strike over the non-implementation of agreements reached with the federal government.
