Data presented by Atlas VPN has shown an increase in social media attacks on payment services in the second quarter (Q2) of 2021.
The numbers have been attributed to the Compilation of Many Breaches (COMB) which is considered as one of the biggest data breaches of all time.
Though the number of leaked records hit new highs in 2020, Atlas VPN stated that the number of actual data breaches reduced from 7,553 breaches in 2019 to 3,932 in 2020.
Losses caused by malware and logical attacks rocketed from less than €1,000 in 2019 H1 to just over €1 million in 2020 H1.”
