Governor Ben Ayade’s government has directed the public to cease illegal mining activities in Cross River, especially in Biase and Akamkpa local government areas.
“I am saddened by the news of the fire outbreak at the Marian Market and the attendant loss of goods and property,” said Mr Ayade.
“Governor Ayade, pay us our salaries. We were duly employed. Five years is not five days.”
The governor said he was well equipped for the senate and would bring his wealth of experience to bear in the upper legislative chamber if elected.
The party’s spokesman claimed brooms had suddenly become scarce in the state, in the wake of Governor Ben Ayade’s defection into the party.
