He said in a matter of days, the “inglorious tenure” of Mr Ayu as national chairman of PDP will become history and the party will enjoy a new lease of life.
“Tinubu’s victory will not only benefit our motherland Nigeria, it will at the same time be a morale booster for Africa.”
Mr Fayose is being prosecuted by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) for N6.9 billion fraud and money laundering charges.
APC’s candidate, Biodun Oyebanji, won Saturday’s election with 187,057 votes. Segun Oni of the SDP got 82,211 votes, and Mr Kolawole 67,457 votes.
The Gazette reports that security officials, particularly the police, were in the polling units already visited.
However, the former governor is yet to officially declare his intention to contest the presidency.
Mr Wike, who had also declared interest in the 2023 presidential race under the PDP platform, solicited support of the delegates ahead of the May 28 presidential primaries of the party.
Affected aspirants are those contesting the primaries of the APC where the party’s candidate will be picked for the 2022 governorship election.
