The Nigerian Labour Congress (NLC) on Friday said it will hold a nationwide protest against the planned removal of fuel subsidy on January 27, 2022.
“The NLC wishes to maintain its rejection of deregulation based on import-driven model.”
As Nigeria celebrates its 61st independence anniversary, the NLC has accused Nigerian leaders of being interested only in looting the national treasury.
Mr Wabba said workers’ victimisation by sack for participating in the warning strike and violation of the “no victimisation” clause in the signed agreement.
The duo have been engaged in longstanding public and private spar over party and governance issues.
“The suspension was to pave way for negotiation as requested by the federal government.”
The minister further directed the two parties to maintain the status quo pending the resolution of the issues in contention.
“We hope and also urge the Kaduna state governor not to escalate matters to such a level where it becomes uncontrollable.”
Mr El-Rufai’s placing of a bounty on Mr Wabba contrasts his handling of banditry in Kaduna.
