Mr Afolabi said that the CG, Ahmed Audi, directed that men from all units of the corps be deployed ahead of the celebration.
Contacted by The Gazette on Thursday, Mr Dandaura said he could not make clarifications on the matter but would let the law take its course.
“An 18-year-old male was arrested for allied offences involving power and communications infrastructure vandalism,” Mr Afolabi said.
The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps states that it has arrested 20 individuals for crimes that threaten national security.

Mr Afolabi said the kidnap attempt was thwarted by the Commandant General’s Special Intelligence Squad (CGsSIS) in the Bukan-Ari area on the Kurikyo Road in Lafia.

The NSCDC Commandant General, Ahmed Audi, during the training, reiterated the commitment of the corps to safer schools for students, teachers and host communities in the country.

The NSCDC’s spokesperson, Babawale Afolabi, said the illegal bunkering site was located at Nembe/Odagwa Creek in the Etche LGA in Rivers.
