Environment minister Balarabe Lawal said Nigeria was committed to sustaining the mangrove ecosystem and boosting its blue economy by promoting climate-resilient livelihoods.
Mr Lawal stressed the need for greater investment in climate finance, resilient infrastructure, livelihoods and stronger regional cooperation.
The project was funded by the Global Environment Facility and implemented by the United Nations Industrial Development Organisation.
He commended UNODC for empowering young Nigerians to take action in wildlife protection.
He said that the initiative marked a step toward renewable energy adoption within the UN system.
