The suspects, he said, were being interrogated and would be charged to court on completion of investigations.
“Instead, the Zamfara government chose to play politics with the sensitive matter for cheap political goals.
The governor ordered security agencies to take other stringent measures against those violating the order.
The Commissioner for Information and Internal Affairs, Baba Halilu-Dantiye, said the governor was distancing himself from the “unguarded utterances”.
He added that the troops also recovered arms and ammunition, and illicit drugs from the suspects.
Mr Tchiani is the former head of the president’s security guard.
Mr Onyeka said that upon handing over the suspect, the police commenced investigations, and four locally-fabricated rifles were recovered from his house.
“We no longer rely on 1970 or 1980 equipment to fight the battle of 2023. The Nigerian Army has procured various modern equipment and also has internally built ones.”
Mr Lagbaja said the army had recorded considerable achievements in the fight against insurgency, banditry and other criminality.
Mr Bafarawa said curbing banditry would also enhance food security for the country.
