Mr Baba said that as of December 31, 2023, out of its N336 billion target, the command realised N313 billion.
The seizure was made possible through tracking of the containers based on credible intelligence from international partners.
Mr Oramalugo said N71.292 billion was generated as revenue in 2023.
“A breakdown of the seizures comprises prohibited goods such as used clothing, foreign parboiled rice, vegetable oil, tomato paste and others,” he said.
The Kwara State Command of the Nigeria Customs Service said three suspects were arrested during the period.
He appealed to the communities to deny the smugglers access and avoid shielding them.
He explained that the duty paid value(DPV) of the goods seized amounted to N241,977,943.
“You represent the image and reputation of the service upon your shoulders as you move on with your own to discharge your assignments.”
The customs boss said the seizures were made from different locations across Ogun and were mainly intelligence-driven.
