Mr Agun collapsed on Thursday, October 2, after giving a speech during an event commemorating World Peace Day in Benin City.
The principal of Utese Secondary School, Igbinadolor Ifuakor, described the event as unforgettable.
“Everywhere he served, he left more than just a line on a resume. He left memories, he left reforms and he inspired several young officers who served under him,” said Mr Egbetokun.
Mr Wushishi commended the council’s workforce, past and present, describing them as the unsung heroes whose daily efforts sustained NECO’s credibility.
Mr Ofoyeju described the exercise as a “bold step” in safeguarding communities from the dangers of drugs.
The police announced, in a statement, that the command “has taken decisive action”.

Mr Ofoyeju said, “The achievements were remarkable and underscored our proactive approach towards curbing drug-related crimes in Edo State.’’
The GOC urged the officers to apply the lessons learned beyond the training ground.
Mr Shaibu also praised Mr Obaseki’s role in shaping Edo State’s immunisation framework.
