Army chief Waidi Shaibu has promised improved security in Benue’s troubled communities.
He said that patients with symptoms of infectious diseases should be referred to facilities with capacity to manage them.
He expressed appreciation to members of the local communities for providing timely and actionable intelligence.
The virologist warned that Nigeria’s recurrent outbreaks signal the need for robust national policies to protect health workers.
He urged the host community and all Benue indigenes to take ownership of the project.
