Police commissioner Bethrand Onuoha has ordered watertight security in Kogi ahead of Christmas and New Year celebrations
The Kogi State police spokesperson assured that everything possible would be done to ensure the safe release of the victims.
He said, “This act has led to an increase in criminal activities.’’
He enjoined residents of the state to be vigilant and provide credible information to the security agencies.
“It is sad that the criminals killed two of the students.’’
The police said a helicopter was deployed to rescue the remaining abducted university students in Kogi.
The CP said there must be undercover operations to black spots, flashpoints, and other vulnerable criminal spots to check crimes across the state
The Kogi State CP told the NLC that the command was aware of the nationwide protest scheduled for today.
SP Williams Ovye-Aya, spokesman of Kogi Police Command, described the rescue operation as “very swift and pragmatic.”
According to him, the police and other security agencies are ready to deal with any miscreants.
