“The thing that motivates us more is what we have been able to give to INEC. I think INEC is a princely institution. We have always prioritised INEC.”
“I seize the opportunity of this visit to appeal to Nigerians to please go to the designated polling units,” the INEC chair said.
“Our confidence stems in part from the signing of the Electoral Act of 2022 by President Muhammadu Buhari.”
The Ondo governor said that the BVAS technology would help strengthen the nation’s electoral process and also build confidence.
The Ooni of Ife noted that the future of over 200 million Nigerians rest heavily on the outcome of the 2023 general elections.
INEC revealed that “So far, only 27,753 cards were issued out of the 132,750 new PVCs received as at Jan. 5, 2023.”
He said with the arrival of the last consignment in Abuja on Tuesday, INEC had now taken delivery of the required number of BVAS machines for all polling units in the country.
“All of us, with our education, sit back and allow the less qualified to be in charge. We are still the problem.”
The ruling party presidential candidate took questions before a diverse audience at Chatham House on Monday.
“Various political parties have repeatedly failed to adopt and apply the provisions of their constitutions.”
