He said that the revitalised sector was now contributing significantly to economic growth.
The minister reaffirmed the government’s efforts to close Nigeria’s fish production gap and reduce the foreign exchange spent on fish imports.
“Nigeria’s candidature is more than ambition. It is a solemn pledge of partnership with the international community,” he stated.
Mr Oyetola commended Nigerians for their resilience and unyielding spirit in the face of challenges.
The minister said that successive administrations failed to operationalise the fund until now.
