Mr Marwa said that the primary target was a remote farm located at Abidagba forest, in the Ijebu East Local Government Area of Ogun State.
The NDLEA chairman said Nigeria’s strategic geographic location had made it a target for international drug trafficking organisations.
A statement by the NDLEA spokesman, Femi Babafemi, on Sunday said the consignment was concealed in the heads of imported dry stockfish.
The NDLEA spokesman said a female suspect was arrested on Friday, January 23, in Mokwa, Niger State, in a follow-up operation by operatives.
Mr Marwa spoke with the injured officers by phone to wish them a speedy recovery.
He said that the suspect was arrested at the boarding gate of the Abuja airport on Sunday, Dec. 22.Â
Mr Ofoyeju is a master trainer on right-based border management facilitated by the International Organisation for Migration.
“In West Africa, and specifically in Nigeria, drug trafficking and abuse are often seen as complex issues with deep-rooted social and economic factors,” said Mr Marwa.
The seizure was made possible through tracking of the containers based on credible intelligence from international partners.
The anti-narcotic agency said the collaboration would prevent remote communities from turning into an illicit drug den.
