Mr Lagbaja said the army had initiated several welfare projects to directly impact the lives of soldiers and their families.
He assured the people of the region that the Nigerian army would dominate all hot spots.
He said the directive also mandated all personnel to wear a black hand band in remembrance of the late former COAS.
Mr Nwachukwu said the criminals abducted the corps members while they were in transit from Edo to Katsina State.
The Army spokesperson said the troops’ onslaught terminated many terrorists while others fled with gunshot wounds.
He expressed optimism that the relationship between the two countries would reinforce their armies’ capabilities through sharing intelligence.
He said that the services of troops were critical to securing the country’s oil industry.
He also called on the troops to remain committed to the fight against insecurity in their areas of responsibility.
According to him, all the rescued victims are presently in troops’ custody undergoing profiling.
Mr Nwachukwu added that the oil thieves fled upon sighting the advancement of troops.
