The Bureau of Public Procurement has commenced training on its newly revised standards procurement document in the North-West and North-East zones.
The minister said that the new policy mirrored the U.S. “America First Policy.’’
Mr Yesufu stated, “For a contract that is up to N2.7billion, it will require the bureau to review what the ministry has done and issue a certificate of no objection.’’

He said there were cases where the procuring entity declined, and the process was interjected and frustrated in bad faith and for flimsy reasons.
The approved budget comprises a capital expenditure of N154.8 billion and a recurrent expenditure of N155.7 billion.
The BPP has called for a review of standard bidding procurement to improve budget implementation and national development.
