NDLEA says it seized 3,988.74kg of assorted drugs with a monetary value of N80 million and arrested over 100 people for drug trafficking in Abuja.
He explained that the duty paid value(DPV) of the goods seized amounted to N241,977,943.
Mr Oramalugo said operatives intensified surveillance in the state and seized cannabis sativa, donkey skin and other items.
Of the 3,091.032kg of hard drugs seized between January and now, cannabis sativa accounted for the largest seizure.
He said out of the 214 arrests, 137 of them had been charged to court for prosecution and that 30 convictions had been secured.
The exercise, he said, would be sustained beyond the handover ceremonies to make the state free of drug abuse.
The controller disclosed that officials of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) Kaduna state command had tested the seized substances.
Mr Nnadi condemned the nefarious means of earning a living by some members of the society.
Mr Babafemi said that operatives of the Tincan Port command of the agency made the interception.
The agency’s sniffer dogs were deployed to locate the area the illicit drugs were hidden in the cargo, and they immediately identified the cartons packed in the deep freezers.
