The commander said the recovered weapon and ammunition would be subjected to forensic analysis to establish linkages with past criminal incidents.
“We are here to ensure that the peace in this state will continue and extend to the whole country,” he said.
The Nigerian Navy has successfully eliminated sea piracy within the nation’s waters, but the problem persists in other GoG countries.
The navy chief said oil production, which was 700,000 barrels per day, increased to 1.7 million barrels daily after his troops took over security duties in the areas.
“The incessant attacks would continue to affect the nation’s economic fortunes if allowed to persist.”
