The chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, Ola Olukoyede, has urged the National Assembly to pass the Unexplained Wealth Bill, which has been pending since the Ninth Assembly
“There is no shortcut to wealth and fame. Acts of criminality might deliver wealth in the short term, but ultimately, there will be misery and gnashing of teeth,” said Mr Olukoyede.
Mr Olukeyede said that if public corruption was taken out of the polity, the country would fare better than many countries of the world.
The VP said the Pulaku Initiative is a national commitment to confront threats fuelling distrust and conflicts.
“Do not leave the fight against corruption to the EFCC alone.’’
