The striking lecturers had embarked on a four-week roll-over comprehensive strike on February 14.
“It is unethical for doctors to embark on strike. I have said it so many times in the past and I will continue to say it. Doctors should not go on strike.”
According to Mr Akpan, this is the 11th time that Nigeria is elected for quality representation of the African Region at the ILO.
The minister further directed the two parties to maintain the status quo pending the resolution of the issues in contention.
According to the statement, the minister accepted the apology, and the conciliation meeting will resume soon.
