He said all doctors must conform to and align with the code of conduct and ethics obtained in civilised society, make all the sacrifices, and attain mental maturity.
The chairman of the association, Charles Ugwuanyi, made the call in an interview.
“I want to tell you that this issue of ridding the health profession of quackery is on the agenda of President Bola Tinubu. Laws are not there to serve as a deterrent.”
The Nigerian Medical Association (FCT branch) has appealed to the government to provide more security for the safety of doctors.
NMA said Nigeria has less than 25,000 registered and practising doctors, stressing that the government must find a way to encourage doctors to stay in the country.
“The nurse alleged that the doctor was drunk while on duty and physically abused her to justify her refusal and insubordination.”
