It noted that resident doctors who had left the institution in the past four years were never replaced.
According to the statement, the appointment takes immediate effect.
“The fire has now been put off by our men, with the support of the Federal Fire Service and the UCH Fire Service,” he said.
“This is an issue of concern for all of us and we are already looking at the factors that are responsible.”
