Mr Dugeri said that the chairman always disrespected the house whenever she was summoned.
“Now is the time to honour the agreement made to Sen Orji Uzor Kalu in 2019 by the APC to make him Senate President in 2023,” he said.
“I hereby wish to inform this House that I am no more interested in being your leader but have resigned forthwith,” the letter read.
He urged Nigerians to live in peace and harmony despite their cultural, religious and political differences.
“I shall be running for the Office of the President if the party zones it to the South-East,” Mr Kalu declared.
Reason for the impeachment was not given, except that 20 out of the 24 members of the assembly attended the session.
