The chairman of the Independent Petroleum Marketers of Nigeria, Enugu zone, says the price increase in petroleum products in the country is due to a hike at the source.
Mr Chibuike said, “I urge marketers to have the fear of God, cooperate and show understanding with the authorities.”
Mr Anyaso echoed concerns over the issue of multiple taxation and harassment by various government agencies.
According to Mr Anyaso, fire incidents in any filling station outlet and other places lead to huge losses.
Mr Anyaso said IPMAN’s national leadership was holding strategic talks with the management of Dangote Refinery to secure direct supply from the company.
He said IPMAN would not issue further notice upon the expiration of the deadline.
The property is located at Trans-Nkissi Phase 1, along Onitsha/Otuocha Road, Onitsha.
The IPMAN chairman said marketers in the state may have to suspend operations without further notice until the state government pays them.
“The marketers agreed that the blame is not entirely on the government but that of the contractors, some of whom have made bloated claims.”
