The festival, which runs through November 8, will showcase feature films, documentaries, and shots from across Africa and the diaspora.
The event organisers said that this year’s festival would feature 150 films from Africa and the Diaspora.
Shot in Canada and Nigeria in 2022, the film, based on real life events, was written and directed by acclaimed Nigerian-Canadian filmmaker Lonzo Nzekwe.
The organisers said that so far, they had generated 1,000 quality films to be exhibited in the course of the festival.
The United States Ambassador to Nigeria, Mary Beth Leonard, has reiterated the U.S. Mission’s support of Nigeria’s growing creative sector and cultural ties with America.
Nollywood icons such as Sola Sobowale, Omotola Jalade-Ekeinde, Uche Jumbo, Nse Ikpe-Etim, Uche Nancy, Chioma Ude, Funke Akindele-Bello, among others, were awarded at the event.
