In his remarks, he appealed to residents to adhere strictly to all precautionary measures to curb cholera outbreak.
“One can’t expect people like us to cook when we are at our workshops,” said a mechanic.
Mr Abayomi disclosed this during a state multi-agency news briefing and an update on the cholera outbreak in Lagos on Monday.
“We have suspended all school food vendors to ensure the safety of the pupils and students,” Mr Egunjobi said.
The Akwa Ibom government says it has initiated precautionary measures to prevent an outbreak of cholera.
The Osun government says there are no confirmed cases of cholera outbreak in the state.
Two Lagos-based physicians have urged parents and schools’ management to maintain optimal hygiene to avoid the spread of cholera.
The commissioner said two cholera cases had been reported in Okitipupa LGA in Ondo and had been curtailed by the state’s rapid response team.
The Lagos health commissioner noted that the cholera outbreak resulted in about 60 hospital admissions and five deaths.
Four hundred fifty-five people have been admitted to various treatment facilities.
