The federal government through labour minister Chris Ngige is seeking the National Industrial Court’s intervention to resolve the trade dispute with NARD.
Health minister Chris Ngige said Nigerian doctors must not misuse their God-given opportunity to save lives with incessant industrial actions.
“What are you going abroad to do, the expertise is here (in Nigeria),” Mr Ngige said.
Mr Ngige said striking doctors will not be paid for the period they are on strike.

Federal government has appealed to the UN’s ILO to provide technical support to address Nigeria’s rising unemployment rate.
The federal government says it has increased the amount paid as hazard allowance to health workers.
“We have distilled on a holistic basis, what this ministry regards as a conciliatory cocktail position.”
“We hope and also urge the Kaduna state governor not to escalate matters to such a level where it becomes uncontrollable.”
“It takes a lot of funds to train a medical doctor, nurse or even a laboratory technologist or physiotherapist. So, we want to retain them here.”
