Mr Ndukwe said that the state’s commissioner of police commended the operatives for their vigilance.
Mr Haruna said that the command’s monitoring units and special teams were deployed immediately after receiving the report of the incident.
The command’s spokesperson stated that investigation into the incident was underway.
The state police spokesperson stated that during interrogation, the suspects confessed to the kidnapping of a serving councillor in Doma on May 26.
Mr Ehi noted that security agencies were working to ensure the safe return of the abducted passengers and driver.
“This day commemorates the selfless services and values that police officers add to our society,” he said.
Ms Anene said that the Commissioner of Police, Steve Yabanet, ordered the deployment to ensure peaceful celebration.
He said all the suspects would be charged to court after completion of preliminary investigation.
Mr Hassan said during interrogation, the suspect was unable to provide a satisfactory explanation on how he got the items.
“The suspect will be charged to court soon to face the full weight of the law,” Mr Hassan said.
