Mr Waiya said the government approved modified celebrations.
The Commissioner for Information and Internal Affairs, Baba Halilu-Dantiye, said the governor was distancing himself from the “unguarded utterances”.
The facility was one of the recovered public structures allocated to individuals by former Governor Abdullahi Ganduje.
Mr Ganduje said he had forgiven those who wronged him, urging those he had offended to reciprocate same by forgiving him.
